      8th International Conference on Virtual Systems and Multimedia (VSMM
      2002)

      25-27 September 2002 - Hilton Hotel, Gyeongju Korea

      In the spirit of developing innovative virtual reality and multimedia
      technologies and applying it to advance and enrich our lives, VSMM2002
      will run under the theme of Creative Digital Culture, not only looking
      for innovations in the technology itself, but also exploring novel ways
      to transfer and express information and artistic ideas to people.

      VSMM2002 will be held in Gyeongju, the capital of the ancient Shilla
      Kingdom, rich with 1000 year long culture and tradition, and the site of
      one of the UNESCO designated World Heritages.

      We are soliciting papers with special emphasis on the five areas of:
      Virtual Heritage, Media Art and Creative Technology, Media and VR
      Technology, Wireless Life and Culture, and Virtual Medicine/Health
      Science. VSMM2002 will run technical sessions in the respective areas
      with a lineup of plenary sessions, invited talks, tutorials, panels,
      workshops and media art and creative technology exhibition.

      Papers related to the following topics (but are not limited to) are
      specially solicited, however, any paper dealing with pioneered
      significant development in virtual reality and multimedia is also
      encouraged.
      Proposals for tutorials, panels, and workshops related to the above
      five areas are also sought.

      Papers
      Papers should describe original and unpublished work about the above or
      closely related topics.
      Authors should submit a manuscript electronically as a PDF file.
      The paper should not exceed 10 pages single spaced in length including
      images, figures, tables and references. The paper should also include
      the title of the paper, authors names, affiliations, postal addresses,
      e-mail addresses and the contact person for the paper. If submission
      exceeds 4 Mb, please compress paper using Winzip.

      Panels
      Submit a proposal that describes what you plan to discuss. The proposal
      should include the topic, the importance of the topic to the VSMM 2002
      attendees, originality and a brief position statement. The proposal
      should be around 3 pages single spaced in length and submitted
      electronically. Be sure to include the contact persons, affiliations,
      addresses, telephone numbers and email addresses.

      Tutorials / Workshops
      Submit a proposal that describes what you plan to teach or workshop. The
      proposal must include a description of the objectives, experience level
      and prerequisites of the intended audience, about 200-word abstract,
      outline of the content and the instructors vita. Be sure to include the
      contact persons, affiliations, addresses, telephone numbers, and email
      addresses. Proposal should be around 3 pages single spaced in length and
      submitted electronically.
