      Glen and All,
I am on the staff at Vicksburg National Military Park and spend about half my week at the U.S.S. Cairo Museum. I listen on here to pick up what I can that is useful for living history on the gunboat. In response to your question I wanted to shoot out a couple of events going on at the Museum this fall. While they are not battle reenactments they may be of interest to some of you. On October 13 we will be commemorating Navy Day with a small Naval Time line composed of a Revolutionary War Sailor, a Civil War Sailor, and a WWII Sailor with some different programs going on during the day with that. We do not need any assistance with this program, however I thought if anyone was in the area and wanted to stop by they may enjoy coming as a visitor. On the weekend of December 7/8 we will be having a living history weekend to commemorate the 151st Anniversary of the sinking of the U.S.S. Cairo. Plans are still being discussed for this, however if anyone with a U.S. Naval Kit is interested in attending that weekend we'd be happy to have you. We will also have interpretive programs on the actual anniversary day of December 12, however as that is in the middle of the week we are not planning to have any living history going on that day.
If anyone has any questions pertaining to either of these events feel free to shoot me an email at daniel_koch@....

Is there any kind of schedule for any Civil war era Marine/Navy Living History battle re-enactments for the remainder of 2013? Preferably in the South-East U.S. IE, Tennessee, Mississippi, Georgia, Carolinas? Thanks In Advance! YOS, Glenn Davis Email address:mailto:cwvet2013%40yahoo.com
