Vibroplex only sells the gray audio cords.
Posted this a couple of days ago but never saw it come up, not sure
way. So if this becomes a duplicate I'm sorry.

Never saw the first one, Mike, and a duplicate wouldn't be a
        problem anyway.

Occasionally you see those wedge plugs on eBay, and I think
the last time I saw one it was from AZRoadrunners -- he's well-known
for damaging keys and bugs with his wire brush cleaning methods, but
you might be OK with a wedge plug. It might be a good idea to
contact AZRoadrunners and ask if he has any.

Or... somebody on the list may have an
extra. Unfortunately, I only have one which I want to hang on to.

I just replaced my hiking boot laces. The "bootlace" is a hollow brown
woven fabric covering a very strong white cord. The brown covering looks
similar to the cord used on my mom's 1930s telephone.

If you can't immediately find the correct cord, you could hide modern
wires inside this type of shoelace.

I could mail you the old shoelaces....they're old, but not too
          crusty....

            Look at this site. http://www.radiodaze.com/
In the part page is some 2 conductor fabric speaker wire that would
            probably work.
I have inquired to another supplier also and will let you know what
            info I receive from them.

There are probably more supplkiers out there, it's just finding them on the web.
