      What is use is contact type cement, Mike.

      I apply a coat to the back of the label and to the base and let it dry.
      Then I apply a second coat to each. This coat,
      I wait until it gets that gloss look and then put them together. The
      base, I mask it with masking tape before I apply
      the contact cement. On Deluxe models (chrome finish), clean the chrome
      well with acetone or lacquer thinner.
      Remove the masking tape after the second coat and before you apply the
      label. Apply pressure/weight to the label
      for 30 minutes to an hour.

        If the old glue is intact on the label, you might try moderate heat, a hair dryer or steam iron if you can fit it in there or on it. That is how I get Formica

          That is how I get Formica to re-attach itself to a counter or table, I iron it back on/down.
