      Gary,
I think you may be missing the point, which is, Vibroplex's competition is Vibroplex.  I have 8 high-quality Vibroplex keys from days gone by and they all have nice embossed brass nameplates.  I will not settle for a flat silk screened nameplate.  Besides, the cheesy nameplate is the canary in the coal mine as far as the quality of new Vibroplex keys is concerned.
      My 2 cents,

Maybe the new tag is simply that the new owner is trying to keep his costs down in order to keep his product competitive.  There seems to be lots of NOS bugs available with the embossed tag if the tag at is an issue.

Well consider this: Say I was looking to buy a paddle I can get a Bencher BY-1 at 110 bucks at Mtech. But be paying Scott 150 bucks for a Brass Racer. I think

I think he is going to need to change more than the name plate if he wishes to become competitive.

Earl, You draw your own conclusions there.  My guess is things that show are the last to be changed.  If the new owner is "cheaping down" to save money, my guess is that other things will suffer also....like quality control/assurance, which is a fairly costly function in manufacturing.
