Very Good. It seems like the older bugs play a little easier, and they are much quieter when playing too. anyone else notice that? My annie. Sounds like a cement mixer coming down the road, and my 1938 junior just glides right along. the blue racer 2000 is not to bad, but it's still no match for the older ones.--- In cw_bugs@yahoogroups.com, "k8nb" <k8nb@...> wrote:

          The Blue Racer!
I have several bugs in my collection no question my 2 Blue Racers are my faves. The first Blue Racer I got in 2003 is missing it's serial number label is about a '52 or '53 having "Blue Racer Standard and painted Black Crackle finish. My second Blue Racer I obtained a year ago is a Circa '54 Standard I obtained from my friends estate. I repainted the Gray Crackle base that the paint was falling off with Gray Hammertone Tremclad Paint the colour match was really great. Some Vibroplex's were finished in Hammertone Finish. I had my '54 Blue Racer plugged into 2 of my Radios I used for the Classic Exchange yesterday. I had the other Blue Racer plugged into my Heathkit Trio I put on the air Yesterday for the first time. DX-60, HG-10 and HR-10 no letters on mine! are the Heathkit trio. I had a lot of fun despite band conditions were poor. The bands pretty well closed on 80 and 40 after I got the 3 contacts on 80 on my FT-757GX. Unfortunately I did not make any contacts on 80 and 40 last nite after I got my dishes done to get the really great age multiplier from this early 60's vintage set up. what a difference going to the seperates after operating my FT-757GX and IC-751A I used my '54 Blue Racer on.
