- Hi Don... yep that's it all right (7318.jpg), for sure! Interesting -- the base is exactly 2.5" and is powder black; the housing for the pivot and vibrator has a slightly crackle finish.
It looks like Speed-x started under that name in 1934 and sold to Les Logan in 1937. I suspect from hours of reading on the net, that the narrow base, black, no label bug was probably made between 1934 and 1937.

It sure looks like the Speedex bug shown in the picture.
Tom says it did not have a label and the base was almose the size
of the Blue Racer.
