P.S. I do not want to buy the Vibroplex parts! They are chrome plated
and would not look right on a 1940's dull nickel plated bug.

        John,
If you buy the Vibroplex parts YOU DON'T HAVE TO HAVE BRIGHT
CHROME!!..You can have a plating shop do it in nickel. I took my Blue
Racer Deluxe to my local plating shop and had them strip and replate
the base, mainframe and damper. Total charge....$30 dollars, US. Your
pendulum should be much less. I am somewhat doubtful you will find
someone sitting on a pendulum. If the pendulum is any good, the key is
probably still in action. If the key is "far gone", you'll no doubt
have to have the pendulum replated anyway. Of course, this is only my
opinion/logic. Good luck, and hope to catch you on the air soon.
