      There's a new thing called Grouply, which purports to be one thing, and
      is another. See the below message I got from another group -- I know
      it's true, as I've seen some of the spam emails elsewhere. Let's not
      let it get here!

      List Members:

      I have received an email from a moderator of another Yahoo Group, in
      fact, several, and would like to pass it on to you so you can prevent
      this from occurring on this list, although one member has already
      been compromised by this entity. The information:

      =====================================================
      Here is a moderator's note from another list I am on.
      I hope nobody on this list bit on this bit of spam.

      have been alerted to a problem that so far has eluded us, but has
      been
      seen on other
      YahooGroups.

      An email organization known as "Grouply" asks that you join, and use
      then their service to
      better track all your various YahooGroups memberships - like an RSS
      fed
      thing I presume.

      To join Grouply, you register with them by giving them your Yahoo ID
      and
      password. Bad
      idea. Once they have your ID and password, they hijack your account
      and
      send emails to your
      groups asking more folks to join Grouply. For a moderator of a list,
      they could conceivably
      take control of your list and do with it as they will.

      Any sign of 'grouply" activity on these lists will be dealt with by
      immediate banning of the
      poster, since their account will already have been compromised.
      ===============================================================

      I have checked this out on several inquiries, and have found that
      this is an identity stealing organization. Please do not respond to
      anything you might receive from anyone requesting you "join"
      grouply.com. If you do, delete them immediately from your email
      address book and take steps to further increase the security on your
      Yahoo ID account, like changing your password.

      If you have any questions about the further dangers of this problem,
      you can email directly off list.
    Your message has been successfully submitted and would be delivered to recipients shortly.
