Youth participants in a World Scout Jamboree are 14 to 17 years old. On the other hand, youth participants in a World Scout Moot are 18 to 25 years old. The 2013 World Scout Moot will take place in Canada from August 8 to 18, 2013. Activities will take place in both Quebec and Ontario. This is much closer than a World Scout Moot has ever been to the Central Region BSA. The 2013 World Scout Moot web site is http://www.mootcanada2013.ca/en/%c2%a0
BSA is planning to send a contingent of 18-20 year old Venturers and 21-25 year old young leaders. ("In order to take part in the 14th World Scout Moot Canada in 2013, a person has to be between 18 and 25 years of age when the camp starts on August 8, 2013 (born between August 9, 1987 and August 7, 1995)." We have scanned the BSA contingent flyer and posted it at http://www.chiefokemosbsa.org/images/stories/international/BSAWorldMootCanadaInfo.pdf%c2%a0
The BSA contingent will meet in Ottawa on August 7. The BSA fee is $1100 per person.
Our new Michigan Crossroads Council is developing a plan to charter a bus for our World Scout Moot participants to travel from Michigan to Ottawa on August 7, and from Ottawa to Michigan at the end of the Moot. The cost of this charter bus will be in addition to the $1100 BSA fee.
