The media blitz surrounding the popular novel by Dan Brown, The Da
Vinci Code continues to spur the interest of both religious scholars
and the general public. Adding to this phenomenon is article an
posted on the online version of Fox News (Foxnews.com). An article
appearing Sunday (April 30) featured several notable scholars all
opining on this bestselling novel. The article (which is found at
      this address, http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,193741,00.html)
includes the names of Bart Erhman, Ben Witherington, as well as Larry
Hurtado. The article describes how religious scholars of disparate
backgrounds and religious affiliations are virtually unanimous in
describing the novel as a "blending of fact and fiction." On the
whole, the article comes down hard on Dan Brown's false assertion that
his novel is based on "fact."
