Group Description

The Crocodile Huntress group is dedicated to Bindi Sue Irwin, daughter of the original Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin (1962-2006). She has taken on the mantle of leadership and assumed the legacy of her father. This group will document the growing career of the new Crocodile Huntress.

"My daddy was my hero. ... I know that Daddy had an important job. He was working to change the world so everyone would love wildlife like he did. ... I don't want Daddy's passion to ever end. I want to help endangered wildlife just like he did."

Bindi Sue Irwin impressed the world by delivering an incredibly powerful eulogy at her father's memorial. She was, quite simply, inspirational.

There is no doubt that she will be the leader of the next generation of Wildlife Warriors. Named after a favorite crocodile and family dog, she is tenacious, to say the least. Already a committed conservationist, she has shown amazingly professional skills at an extremely young age. Bindi has strength, poise, clarity, talent, and resolve. She has already garnered worldwide respect and we acknowledge her determination and honor her goals.

In her public return after mourning Bindi did a series of interviews worldwide and then several Animal Planet and Discovery Kids programs with her mother. She appeared recently as host of a moving hour-long special, her first solo TV program, called "My Daddy, The Crocodile Hunter." Her new TV series "Bindi the Jungle Girl," postponed for a year out of respect for the loss of her father, debuted in America in June, 2007.

This group will follow Bindi Irwin's career, but include all news involving environmental, ecological, zoological, and wildlife conservation issues.
