If a person you care about is in the military and is about to be
shipped off or is already stationed in a danger zone, this bit came
      to me tonight:

      Protection cloth:

Okay, so paper deteriorates and plastic isn't natural, but you still
want to sent a bit of protection to a loved one.
Why not use cloth, preferably white or black cotton?
Take a piece of cloth of a color that you feel appropriate and draw
a rune or design of protection on it....Use pemanent marker if
possible. This could be a complex Amish
Hex or a simple rune or pentacle. It could also be a Celtic symbol
(like the "Power of Three" symbol used in a popular TV show which is
      historically accurate).
Annoint the rune cloth with protection oil while visualizing a globe
of white light around the loved one.
Meditate with the cloth, visualizing the loved one arriving home safe
and the great times you will have with this person when they are home
      again.
Mail this cloth to the loved one or give it to them before they ship
out. Tell them to keep this cloth safe with them always.
