More venting, because Im the club founder, and I
can.<br><br>Ive been monitoring The Cult of Roman Catholicism
      club
(<a href=http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/thecultofromancatholicism target=new>http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/thecultofromancatholicism</a>) and took interest in a fellow there who asked
about Calvinism. His handle is Skandia66003. One of the
      club founders, Sounddoctrine_2000, who professes
anything but sound doctrine, responded to Skandia by
inviting him to a private club wherein SD promised to
teach Skandia about Calvinism. I quickly sent an
invitation to this club, and pleaded with Skandia to
join.... no answer. After joining SD's private club,
Skandia posted to the Cult of Roman Catholicism Club,
"...now I know why Calvin killed Baptists."<br><br>Ugh.
SD got to him. I would make some noise over there in
the CoRC club, but SoundDoctrine would kick me out
the second he saw my name because I've had it out
with him before, and he cannot tolerate someone
addressing his idiocy and lies in a pointed, logical,
      Scriptural argument.<br><br>As a former Baptist, I get
particularly frustrated at witnessing this kind of landmark
Baptist garbage. Its a lie. History does not record John
Calvin as killing ANYONE. And anyone who says otherwise
is either ignorant of the facts or a damned
liar.<br><br>Were there executions in Geneva? Sure! The death
penalty is Scriptural, folks. <br><br>Did Calvin murder
anyone? No way. Not Servetus, not anyone. <br><br>Was
Servetus killed by Calvin? NO! City Council ordered his
death by slow burning. Calvin wasnt a magistrate and
didnt have the office or the power to order executions.
In fact, when Calvin pleaded for a more humane
execution, the Council refused and went ahead with the
burning.<br><br>Did Calvin hunt Servetus down like some kind of
Genevan Inquisition? NO! Calvin warned Servetus to stay
out of Geneva...Servetus came anyway. Calvin pleaded
with Servetus all to repent and recant so he would not
be executed... Servetus continued to blaspheme and
refused to stop teaching his heresies. Calvin pleaded
with the Council to get his sentence eased, to no
avail. It can be truthfully said that Calvin was the
only one in the whole situation that tried his best to
      KEEP SERVETUS FROM BURNING!<br><br>Was Servetus
executed merely for being a Baptist? NO! Aside from his
anabaptism, he also was anti-trinitarian who called the
Trinity an illusion of devils, he taught a kind of
pantheism which made the bench he sat on to be very God, he
denied the eternal sonship of Christ, etc, etc,. If
Baptists want to claim this guy and his teachings as their
own, they are associating themselves with no martyr of
Christ, but a martyr for Satan.<br><br>Now, I think Im
      going to go vomit.<br><br>gmw.
