David wrote, "For various reasons, the Reformers
just couldn't bring themselves to give up
paedobaptism; for one thing,"<br><br>For one thing, they
couldn't find any Scriptural reason to do so! You see,
they saw full well that like circumcision, baptism
represented the taking away of sin, and regeneration
(Colossians 2:11-13), and that like circumcision, baptism is
the sign and seal of the promise to not only
believers, but to their children (Acts 2:38,39). God did not
exclude children from Old Covenant, and neither does He
in the New. This is no stretch of Covenant Theology,
as you suggest.<br><br>BUT, you are right to bring
up this issue in light of this discussion on
covenanting, as the two are related. You believe in internal
covenant only, I believe in external and internal
      covenants.<br><br>gmw.
