      This subject is an interesting diversion. Luke 15:22 comes to mind, which states "But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet."
       
      At least here in this parable, it appears that the use of the ring was partially expressive of the favor and affection of the father for his son. It is difficult for me to see from the scriptures a sweeping prohibition of all wearing of rings that some have suggested.
