Guild Ringing and Business Meeting Saturday 6th July
- Next Saturday 6th July is the next Guild ringing and business meeting which will be held in the village of Kineton. The venue for ringing is Kineton Primary School fete which is in King John's Rd - CV35 0HS - it's off the Warwick road (a misnomer as it leads to Wellesbourne) at the western end of the village. Ringing will be on the mobile Charmborough Ring (6 bells, tenor 94lb) which is a somewhat different experience to tower bells. There should be opportunities for ringing as a band in between giving lots of non-ringers (would-be recruits) a go. Children in particular can often get the hang of these bells in just a few minutes. Do come and take part. The fete is open from 12.00 until 4.00 and you should expect to pay an entry fee. Food and drink should be available.
There will be a short business meeting (probably the last ever Guild quarterly meeting) in Kineton Village Hall (Mill St CV35 0LB) starting at 3.30. NB there will be no tea. The agenda will include an update on Guild objectives and organisation, plus voting on proposed BRF grants for Wolston and Warwick St Nicholas.
Finally, for those of you who need a fix of tower bells there will be ringing at Butlers Marston from about 5.00pm. 6 bells, ground floor, 14cwt, clappers re-bushed with the support of the Guild and greatly improved as a result. I think Matthew Arnold is kindly organising some tea and refreshments here too.
I hope to see plenty of you at some point next Saturday!
