The final of the Guild six bell competition was held today at Bilton, a slightly exclusive affair with just five bands taking part - three bands ringing methods (one from each District); and two ringing call changes, however the second CC entry was a scratch band formed on the day so not eligible for a prize.
A lovely tea was provided by the Bilton ringers and friends, the ringing was stewarded by Benedict and
udged by Graham Harward from Nottingham. It was also the first time many of us had met the young Nathan Kimpton, just six weeks old. As well as the competing ringers there was a fair attendance of ringers who enjoyed listening to the ringing.
The results were as follows:
Bedworth rang 1st Call changes 32 faults
Cathedral rang second Cambridge 20 faults
Warwick rang 3rd Cambridge 14 faults
Bilton rang fourth Reverse Canterbury Doubles 11 faults
Scratch band rang fifth Call Changes 18 faults.
Thus Bilton won the method section;
Bedworth won the call change section.
Congratulations to the winners and thanks to all who took part.
