      Reminder

Sadly after many years we have announced that these reports are coming to an end.  All is not lost, however, there is the Coronation Street Blog.  If you have not seen it already it is bigger and brighter than than these reports, and has much more information as well, so if you follow Corrie, I would suggest you head over there and join Flamin' Nora and her team!  Also the Corrieweeks updates continue distilling the six episodes into a single email for those who prefer delivery to their inbox - The URL with instructions to sign up to the list is on corrie.net: http://www.corrie.net/updates/maillist.html

Thank you all for your support in the past.  Our final reports will be at the end of the month (Friday 30 March).  But for now, onwards with today's report which is late as a result of my holiday.

      Update

Tvor is under the weather so I have stepped in.  This covers episodes 9407/8.  They were written by Jan McVerry and directed by Vicky Thomas.  Copyright remains the property of ITV to whom many thanks.

Events of Friday have caused David Platt much consternation and we see him come to in a strange bedroom and face the realisation of what had happened after he told Josh that he loved him.  David returns home and spends a long time on the floor of the shower.  He then gathers the clothes he had been wearing and puts them in plastic bag in the bin.  He refuses to communicate with Shona and is struggling to understand himself what happened.  Josh later turns up at David's house with a restorative kiwi and kale drink and is welcomed by Gail; David rushes out and throws up by the swing.  Josh does not believe he has done anything wrong and points out the obvious signs that David is gay - he is a hairdresser and has been to young offenders and must therefore have been up for it.  David says he may have been drugged but he knows what happened and wants nothing to do with Josh, calling him twisted.  Josh just wants David to chill and put the puppy dog eyes away or stick to lemonade.  David loses it with Max when the latter says he wants boxing lessons from Josh.  Josh meanwhile is being friendly with Shona, trying to explain that David is just needed some TLC (which was not what Josh delivered last night) and then offers to buy them both drinks in the Rovers - an offer not accepted.  David tells Shona that all is well between them; that he should have come home last night; but he is hardly convincing; she has been narked for most of the episodes as she was running around doing David's jobs looking after Max and Lily.  However their reconciliation between David and Shona in the Rovers is watched by Josh smirking at them.

Michelle (a wedding planner remember) is planning her wedding at Millbrook Hall with soggy petit fours and overpriced Chablis!  She is also worrying about the seating plan - should Ali have a seat or not?  If not a Scots cousin of Robert - Donald - can come and bore everyone stiff.  Michelle has decided to give up on Ali after his treatment of her yesterday.  Later she is involving Carla in the wedding planning - after all she has a lot of bitter experience.  So there is an empty seat.  Other plans suggested by Robert are: Michelle belting out a power ballad, a ceilidh band and a gospel choir.  Michelle nixes them all.

Eva is looking pregnant but of course she and Toyah cannot let Leanne in on the secret.  Toyah thinks Eva should be going to suitable pre-natal classes; in fact they should be gong together.  They dream up a cover story of French and/or Spanish classes knowing that Leanne will not want to join them.  Toyah and Eva have begun to realise that the plan for the former simply to take the latter's baby at birth is actually not that simple - no Jackie surrogate, no paperwork and Peter being named as the father?  And where is Eva going - not Scotland.  Later Leanne has a realisation that her life is boring and passing her by so decides to join the sisters at the language class which magically gets cancelled.  No doubt recalling Raquel and her French lessons with Ken ("Voulez vous couchez avec moi?" as she said to Ken), Leanne arranges for Ken to pop in and give the three of them a lesson the back room of the Rovers.  Only Leanne takes the lesson seriously and Toyah has to come up with an excuse pretty rapidly.  Leanne is far from convinced that her sisters are being honest with her!  Apparently the subject of the lesson is Jack Ouzi!

Continuity goes awry.  Shona is at home, David comes home; we see Shona at work in the cafe; then we see her delivering a brew to David in the shower.  Someone got that very wrong!

Gemma takes guidance from lawyer Carla over her sacking.  Gemma then talks to Cathy who gets Dev involved.  Dev knows that Chesney cannot sack Gemma for her out of work (mis-)behaviour.  Dev tells Chesney he has to re-instate her - his empire is growing and he needs a strong team.  Chesney has no choice and throws Gemma's uniform  at her but continues to make life difficult for her as he had hopes in that direction himself but Gemma had not realised it.  Gemma tries to replay Tom Cruise in Cocktail with Ches for Ali's benefit (a doctor eating a kebab sounds wrong to me) but the mayonnaise goes all over the floor when Ches refuses to play ball.  Gemma tells Ches that Fiz bomb believes Ty - but Ches knows that if you take your partner back they end up treating you as a doormat.  Gemma and Ty manage to be friendly with each other.

The boxing competition needs a ringside doctor and Ty approaches Ali and he might have accepted had Ty not said that it was Robert's suggestion - as Michelle's partner that puts the kibosh on it; Ali guesses that it had been Michelle's idea - not Robert's.  After letting the grass grow Steve later manages to talk Ali round and the latter says he will do it.  Relations with Robert get better and the latter asks Steve to help smooth things with Ali.  Later still Robert, Steve and Ali have a drink together at the bar, Ali revealing he has done the Athens marathon - which is a real test and Robert is impressed.  Michelle sees them together and rather than cause a scene she walks away.  Tracy comes into the bar and reckons they make the weirdest boy band she has ever seen!

Audrey passes on the details of the medium (Rosemary Piper) to Gail (in the snow) and the latter decides to meet her in the Bistro.  Whilst dismissive Gail has to admit she has known a "Richard" and eventually arranges to meet her to receive whatever message has to be passed on.  Rosemary says that "Richard" and his message are blocking her other contacts and she needs to offload the problem to return to normal.  All sounds like an elaborate con to me.

Wendy (Ali's other mother) turns up and calls him son - she wants him to come home and talk but he refuses.  She does not know what she has done to upset him - but she wants Ali to talk to her - he merely wants her to leave him alone and he heads off in a taxi.

Robert is prevented from going training as Michelle drags him to bed for a marathon.  TMI.

      Roll credits.

      See you again on Thursday!

Finally in the words of Mrs Dale I remain very worried about Emily Bishop / Norris Cole or should that be Eileen Derbyshire and Malcolm Hebden?
