      Announcement

Sadly after many years we are announcing that these reports are coming to an end.   A team of us have been writing these reports, voluntarily for a number of years in their spare time.   Over the years some people have left to pursue other interests.  Up until recently we have always managed to find replacements, however despite a number of requests nobody has come forward, and this has meant some people doubling up on their reports, or reproducing them from other sites.

All is not lost, however, there is the Coronation Street Blog.  If you have not seen it already it is bigger and brighter than than these reports, and has much more information as well, so if you follow Corrie, I would suggest you head over there and join Flamin' Nora and her team!

Also the Corrieweeks updates continue distilling the six episodes into a single email for those who prefer delivery to their inbox - The URL with instructions to sign up to the list is on corrie.net: http://www.corrie.net/updates/maillist.html

Thank you all for your support in the past.  Our final reports will be at the end of the month (Friday 30 March).  But for now, onwards with today's report which is late as a result of my holiday.

      Update

This is episode 9400.  It was written by Carmel Morgan and it was directed by Jordan Hogg.  Copyright remains the property of ITV to whom many thanks.

We commence at Billy's flat where Eva is looking for Billy - but Lee has not seen him for a couple of days.  he moves threateningly towards Eva saying Billy had left his keys behind.  Eva tells him for getting his brother hooked on heroin.  Lee counters that Billy was already an addict and had begged for it.  Lee does not seem to care if Billy is dead.

Fiz is laying the table at Ches's house when Ches brings Hope and Joseph in.  Hope and Fiz are having a sleep over with Ches and Joseph.  Hope wants to know about Ruby and Ty.  Hope calls Ruby scary.  Fiz cannot work out why Hope is frightened of her own sister.  Ches says he was scared of Fiz.  Fiz knows that Ruby needs professional help and she is not going to cave in.

Dave is refusing to discuss the news that Martin is moving to New Zealand and has another baby on the way with Sarah as she tells Josh as they meet near the salon.  David has taken the news quite hard.  Josh suggests that David might talk to him once his mood improves.  Sarah is not so sure.  Jude is pushing George in a buggy and they are preparing a party for Angie.  Jude cannot wait for when George can down his first pint - Jude wants to do the dads and lads thing he tells David - no doubt making David feel worse over losing Martin.

In the background Eva is chasing Lee out of the flat - she is desperately trying to hide a bulge.  Lee is not happy at losing his bolt hole.  Lee reckons it will be hard to find Billy.

Pat is on a laptop labelled "Genius at Work" setting up a missing person record for Billy Mayhew on "Friends Connect" when there is a knock at the front door of Eileen's house.  Eva storms in and reckons calling Lee "scum of the earth" is an insult to the "scum of the earth".  She reports his flat dossing and not knowing where Billy might be and does not care.  Eva suggests changing the locks and Pat takes the photos she has found and wants to get them uploaded.

Ty lets Gemma in and she asks after "Dora the Explorer" - Ruby.  Gemma suggests putting her on a dog's lead!  Ty tells her that Fiz has moved to Chesney's with Hope.  Apparently the events earlier were the final straw for Fiz and it was Ty's fault because he let the girls out of his sight.  Until Ruby sees a shrink she is staying at Chesney's.  Gemma sends him to the shop for beer and crisps.  He goes and Gemma gets Ruby dancing.

Eva and Pat emerge - they are going round homeless shelters looking for Billy.  Then churches, hospitals and squats.  Eileen waves them off as they drive away.  She meets Peter who wants to know why Eva is not working her shift.  Eileen is not sympathetic.  She then adds that they are looking for the heroin addicted vicar.  Apparently Adam can fill Peter in on the details.  He looks confused.

Tracy, Jude, Mary and Toyah are blowing up balloons and Angie calls out from the door at Number 3.  They hide in the kitchen and rush out shouting surprise as she comes in to the main room and wish her happy birthday.  Mary points her at the Prosecco in the kitchen and Jude goes to see to a crying Georgie.  Apparently the Marine Life Centre has a vacancy and Mary thought it might be suitable for Jude.  And Angie thinks that Jude having a job and earning would be good.  Angie is pleased.

Audrey tries to cheer up David and suggests a bon voyage meal for a proper send off.  David is not interested as the boxing tournament is coming up.  Audrey is surprised as boxing and epilepsy is a no-no.  David is insisting he will participate and she can tell Martin bon riddance from him.

Gemma has told Ruby three stories and she has gone to sleep.  He passes Gemma a can and tells her he is two cans up on her.  She quickly necks a can.  She told Ruby that Fiz and Hope were on a sleepover.  Even Ty wonders if Ruby is like Kirsty.  Ty acknowledges that Ruby is more than just a bit naughty and obviously the spectre of Kirsty hangs in the air as Ty tells Gemma about the abuse she gave him.  Ty would go to work black and blue from physical assaults.  he felt like a big wimp and a battered husband.  He says he wanted to top himself - but couldn't because of Ruby.  Ty is worried that a shrink will say that Ruby is a mini-Kirsty - a streak of badness in her genes.  Ruby will have a miserable life and so will the family.  As he cries at the prospect Gemma hugs him.

After the break Angie congratulates Jude for considering the research assistant job.  Jude is not impressed as he is a Marine Biologist, not an assistant.  Mary offers to help with childcare.  Angie reckons the money would be useful.  Jude storms out reckoning that flipping burgers would be more rewarding.

Tim finds Sally sleeping on the sofa and he turns the tv off.  He apologies for being snarky about selling to Carla.  He offers her some choccy to make up.  Tim thinks they have hit the jackpot anyway as Eileen and Pat are thinking about moving away and make a new start.  Tim assures her it is definite and she cheers up.

R'Audrey, Shona and Gail are trying to get David to rethink his boxing plan.  They gang up on him - he has responsibilities with Max and Lily.  David points out Martin can head to NZ!  David points out that if he becomes a broccoli Gail can utter her four favourite words.  Gail is going to see Josh and get him to make David see sense.

Toyah and Tracy have gone and Jude is playing a computer game.  Angie is appreciative of Mary's attempt to help.  Jude apologises for being ungrateful.  Jude being a stay at home parent has made him feel a bit useless.  Angie thinks that it would be good for Jude to get back to work.  He agrees and has already sent his cv.

Meanwhile Sally is seeking to withdraw her resignation as mayor of Weatherfield.  The girls have not yet responded to the good news.  Faye will stay at Tim's father's until the Phelans have gone.  Sally is surprised at the Phelans decision - but is so relieved they are going.  As she is not getting a new house Sally decides she wants a root and branch makeover of her existing residence (I thought it had had one already with the staircase getting moved - am I showing my age?).

Gemma and Ty are getting a little too comfortable.  She is telling him a story about a previous boyfriend.  She admits that she loved Henry.  She tells him about the bet about going out with a chav the longest.  Chesney overheard the discussion and it was for £5k!  But she thinks Henry did really like her, but she was wrong.  Ty reckons they are all idiots not to like her - she looks good to him.  He leans in and kisses her.  She kisses him back.

Along the Street Fiz announces to Chesney that the kids are asleep.  Chesney is sure Ty will come around.  Fiz is off for a bath and bed.  She wants to go home and tell Ty she loves him but she has to prioritise Hope.  And Ty is Ruby's father rejoins Chesney - Fiz hates it has split them down the middle.  She can see they are each defending their own child.  But Fiz reckons that Ruby is five and dangerous.  Where will she be at 15?  Chesney is sure that Ty will see Ruby needs help and he needs to stew for a bit.  Fiz will pop round tomorrow.

Peter goes to the Phelan residence and says he wants to help find Billy.  Eileen points out that he called Geraldine Spellman in the first place.  Peter denies it (it was actually Adam).  She points out that that call was the tipping point for Todd and it has been downhill from there.  Summer comes downstairs and Peter leaves having made no progress.  Eileen is quite short with Peter.

Ty and Gemma are still wrapped around each other.  Gemma realises it was the beer talking.  She says it was entirely here fault and makes to leave.  Ty points out he is 35 and knows if he wants to kiss someone.  Gemma says "mum's the word" and is still trying to leave.  Ty pays Gemma a number of compliments.  She tells him his head is all over the place.  And he advances on her and pulls her towards him and starts snogging her again.  She puts her hands around his neck and start pulling him upstairs.  They go upstairs lips locked together.

      Roll credits.

No comments this week as running late.

Finally in the words of Mrs Dale I remain very worried about Emily Bishop / Norris Cole or should that be Eileen Derbyshire and Malcolm Hebden?
