Safety first. UL Approval is important for corn stoves. Thanks to UL and NFPA note there have been no corn stove fires reported by NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) for 100% corn fueled stoves any year in America.
A home fire is reported in 1 of 2000 American homes annually.
      National Fire Protection Association (NFPA)reports
45,500 home heating fires in 2002 with 220 fatalities

      Causes of home fires:
      46% - portable space heaters
      28% - wood stoves
11% - fireplaces and chimney (cresote) fires
Only auto incidents (1 in 10 lifetime odds) exceed electrical
incidents in Tennessee and Mississippi some years followed by the
above stats for American home heating accidents.
