      Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Limited has been organizing the
      International Kite Festival (IKF) for the past 18 years.

      We are planning to celebrate the 19th International Kite Festival
      2009 from 09th to 14th January 2009 at Ahmedabad in Gujarat
      (India).

      Every year a large number of foreign as well as Indian Kite Flyers
      participate and make this festival a grand success. We had
      participants
      from various countries in previous years and they brought a most
      fascinating array of different varieties of Kites with them.

      This letter is to invite you to attend the International Kite festival
      2009 from 09th to 14th January 2009 at Ahmedabad. We would provide
      local hospitality, i.e. lodging & Boarding and local transport in
      Gujarat. We look forward to your participation in the International
      Kite Festival 2009.

      INTERNATIONAL KITE COMPETITION ( IKF 2009, AHMEDABAD)

      GENERAL RULES:

      The rules and regulations for participation under each category are as
      follows:

      Category-1 Indian Fighter Kites- Open to all delegates.

      Rules:- 1) Kites should be made of paper & bamboo sticks.
      2) Kites ( Spine--Dhaddha) should not be longer
      than 24 inches (60)

      3) Design should be made by Collage technique i.e.
      cutting
      and pasting the joints painting the design is
      not allowed.

      4) Kites should be capable of being flown.

      5) Kites should be made by the participant or they
      could be
      a cooperative kitists, they should not be borrowed
      or purchased.

      6) A participant may send across his kites, in case he
      is
      not able to come personally, with full name &
      address.
      7) Each participant may offer 3 kite.


      Category:-2 : Foreign type painted kites--open to all delegates

      Rules:- 1) Each participant is allowed to enter one kite for
      competition.
      2) The Kite should be flown & kept air borne at the
      specified time.
      3) The kite should be made by the competitor
      himself
      or it could be a co- operative kite, it should
      not be borrowed or purchased.

      4) The Kite may be flat kite, 3 -D kite or
      inflatable kite.
      5) The kite may be made from any material.
      6) The kite should not be less than one yard
      (90)in height.

      Category:-3: Foreign Type collage Kites ( cutting & stitching
      joints). - Open to all
      delegated.

      Rules:- 1) Each participant is allowed to enter one kite for
      competition.
      2 ) The Kite should be flown & kept air borne at the
      specified time.
      3) The kite should made by the competitor himself or it
      could be a co-operative kite.
      4) The kite may be flat kite , 3 -D kite or inflatable
      kite..
      5) The kite may be made from any materials.
      6) The kite should not be less than one yard (90) in
      Height.

      Category:-4: Miniature Kites - Open to all delegates

      1) The kites should not be made larger than 1 1/2' (3.7 cms.)
      x 1 1/2" (3.7 cms.),
      Excluding the tail.


      2) The design should be made by collage work method, painting
      the designs is not allowed.
      3) The kite may be made of any materials
      4) The kites may be of any shape
      5) Each competitor is allowed to submit 3 entries
      6) Each kite should be able to be flown on minimum 2 feet (60
      cms) line at
      A minimum angle of 30 degrees.


      Category : 5 : For Indian kite flyers for flying foreign type painted
      kites.

      Rules: 1) Each participants is allowed one kite for
      competition.
      2) The kite should be flown & kept air borne at the specified
      time.
      3) The kite should be made by the competitors himself or it
      could be cooperative. Kite,
      it should not be borrowed or purchased .

      4) The kite may be flat kite, 3 D kite or inflatable kite
      5) The kite may be made any materials
      6) The kite should not be less than one year (90) in height.
