Fw: Kites on April 14th?
- I Hope I am forwarding this correctly to all the members of the ConnectiKITERS. This is the first time I have ever received a request for the club, or some of the members to participate in an event such as this. Does any one know how I am supposed to handle this. Catherine Hiller got my name and telephone from someplace that I was a Board of Director of the ConnectiKITERS and that is why she contacted me.----- Original Message -----From: Catherine HillerTo: bobmar26@...Sent: Thursday, March 29, 2007 1:18 PMSubject: Kites on April 14th?Hi Martha,We are planning an environmental event on Saturday, April 14, 2007, 1-3 pm, in conjunction with www.stepitup2007.org, which has inspired and enabled over 1,000 such events nationwide! We are sending a message to congress: stop carbon emissions 80% by the year 2050 to stop global warming. Our event will be in Mamaroneck, New York -- less than an hour from West Haven. It will be in Harbor Island Park, on the beach, and we will have music, speakers, kayaks and . . . kites. Or at least kite-making (from recyclables) as a children's activity. But real kites flying would be so beautiful and so in keeping with the idea of ecological activities. Wind power: YES!I am hoping that some of the members of your Kite Club will want to come down and fly your beautiful kites as part of our day.I'd be very grateful if you could get out the word! And if anyone can make it here with a kite, please let me know, by email or phone: 914.698.5328.I am attaching a press release about our event as well as the New York Times article about Step It Up that was published earlier this month.I'm here to answer all questions!Catherine Hiller
