Is this a trick question?
The whole point of this exercise is to help you get an understanding of what a bow and arrow
feels like. You actually have to pick one up, feel the string(s), pull on it and feel the weight,
examine its shape and curvature. Same goes for the arrows. I can just look at a picture; but
you're trying to write about things you can not see. I'm suggesting you go to a place where
you can actually pick one up and examine its properties. You're not going to get that in a

Why a Sporting Goods store as oppose to an American-Indian museum?Pen name:Mellissa GreenBlogwww.theworldofyemora.wordpress.com@GreenNovelsLiveI don't know what you are trying to describe, but it's not a bow and arrow. You really need to do some basic research on this rather than digging your self deeper into the hole. You are showig such a lack of basic 5th grade knowledge that trying to explain your mistakes is not wworth the time. Have your parents or a friend take you to a sporting goods store and let you feel what a bow and arrow set are like.PeterFrom: Nicole Valicia Thompson-Andrews <goldyemoran@...>

Subject: RE: [conculture] Worldbuuilding Ideas was The PurgeThe bows are made form animal claws, making it easier for them to hook into the arrow head. There is a leather strap at the bow’s top to release the arrows. So, they could use the bow as a weapon, especially if that’s all they had. Sometimes a hunter may be desperate, and steal a quiver of arrows, off the person’s back. Bow and arrow theft is common on Yemora, but though rare, happens on Sarm.If it’s a pack of desperate hunters, that’s when both bow and arrows are taken. Rarer still, is the lone hunter ho takes both. Also, rare is the hunter, who steals food from another hunter. These hunters distract their prey with a distraction call. The call sounds like the rattle of a rattlesnake’s tail. It’s the rubbing of their hands. This is coming from my head, and I’ll send through a revised copy once it’s done. I’m critiquing manuscripts now, so haven’t been able to worldbuild yet. Three manuscript to go.Pen name:Mellissa GreenBlogwww.theworldofyemora.wordpress.com@GreenNovelsLiveNicole Valicia Thompson-Andrews <goldyemoran@...> wrote:

Um. Bows are not really very good self-defense weapons.
As I understand it, an arrow penetrates better some distance away from the shooter.
Perhaps not quite so well at very close range.
I guess they could always drop the arrows and start swinging the bow! :)
