      Comet Observations 24th December 2012
      C/2012 F6 Lemmon
      2012 Dec 23.69 UT; m1=9.7; Dia= 5.5’; DC= 4; 25cm L, f:5 (x39) [Chris Wyatt, Walcha, NSW, Australia]
No tail, close to bright stars, observation very difficult, faint tenuous outer coma, inner coma is bright, not stellar, moderately condensed.
Comparison stars checked using Tycho-2 data in Guide 9.0; Method= S; Cat= TK

      C/2011 L4 PanSTARRS
      2012 Dec 23.72 UT; m1=9.1; Dia= 3’; DC= 5/6; 25cm L, f:5 (x39) [Chris Wyatt, Walcha, NSW, Australia]
Coma small with diffuse edges, bright central condensation showing a hint of stellaring, rapidly fading to coma edge, no obvious tail was observed. Observation difficult due to low altitude, cloud in vicinity and encroaching twilight. Comet was observed in cloud gaps. Magnitude estimate not corrected for extinction.
Comparison stars checked using Tycho-2 data in Guide 9.0; Method= M; Cat= TK

      Cheers,
      Chris Wyatt

PANSTARRS (all caps and no dash) while the discovering *observatory* is
Pan-STARRS? So says the MPC in all its lists.
