      The Metropolitan Police Department is seeking the public's help in
      solving
      the following crime:


      Fatal Shooting on Columbia Road, NW
      August 16, 1999

      At approximately 10:40 pm on Saturday, August 14, 1999, Fourth District
      units responded to the 1300 block of Columbia
      Road, N.W. for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, units found an
      unidentified male suffering from apparent multiple
      gunshot wounds to the body. The District of Columbia Fire Department was
      summoned to the scene to render medical
      assistance.

      The victim, who has been identified as 24-year-old Livingston Isiah
      Muir of
      the 3700 block of Webster Street, Brentwood,
      Maryland, was transported to the D.C. Medical Examiners Office where he
      was
      officially pronounced dead at 1:45 am.

      The case is currently under investigation by detectives assigned to the
      Metropolitan Police Department's Fourth District.

      Anyone who has information regarding this case is asked to call Fourth

      All calls to the Crime Solvers Unit are confidential and a caller need
      not
      give his or her name. If the information provided by
      a caller to the Crime Solvers unit leads to an arrest and indictment,
      the
      caller will be eligible for a reward of up to ONE
      THOUSAND DOLLARS.
