- REMINDER: ANC ELECTION THIS YEAR; PETITIONS AVAILABLE AUGUST 9
All ANC seats are up for re-election this November.
The first step in running for the ANC is picking up petitions at the
Board of Elections, 1 Judiciary Square, Room 250N. Petitions will be
available beginning August 9. To qualify for the ballot, candidates must
collect the signatures of at least 25 registered voters in their SMDs,
and deliver the signatures to the Board by September 8. The ANC term
begins in early January and runs for two years.
Contact the Board of Elections at 727-2525 if you have questions about
running for ANC.
It would be useful, if commissioners who know that they will not be running
would state or post it.
A person who would not run against an incumbent may consider running if the
seat were to be vacant.
For example 1B02, 1E06; 1A02; and 1C09 all have incumbents that aren't
running again or are currently vacant.
