- I received a fax yesterday from Jair Lynch regarding the Community Academy
Public Charter School (CAPCS), which will be located at 11th & Harvard NW.
Mr. Lynch was hired by CAPCS to serve as development consultant.
Below are the verbatim details of Mr. Lynch's fax:
The following is a synopsis of the major activities surrounding the Harvard
Street Campus (HSC)
Financing- The Community Academy Public Charter Schools (CAPCS) plans to
close the DC Industrial Revenue Bonds by the end of the month.
Construction Schedule- Designers are working feverishly to complete the
construction documents by the end of the summer. Small preliminary studies
and some site clearing will start immediately. Major demolition will start
after closing, with other major trades starting in the early fall.
Construction will be completed for the opening of school September 7, 2001.
Work hours- Smoot Construction will be the contractor for the renovation of
this project. Work hours for exterior portions of the building will be
predominately 7am-7pm Monday through Friday. Construction vehicles and
trucks will park on the property throughout the construction process. The
construction team will also work sporadically on Saturdays in the interior
of the building where a majority of the renovation will occur.
