      Clear Day
      Hello again!

I sent you a previous list of the a cappella programs that were happening in April, which seems to be a very big month for us in Colorado. However, the info I received on one event was inaccurate and two other programs have surfaced for this week that you may not have heard about. I hadn't until a few days ago. Print out this list and don't miss these exceptional opportunities coming up tonight and in the next week:

THURSDAY NIGHT, Apr 28 7pm AT COLORADO SPRINGS' CHEYENNE HI SCHOOL:
The newly crowned "Vocal Group of the Year" by the Los Angeles Music Awards and always one of Colorado's favorite bands, m-pact, brings its class act to one of their favorite cities as part of the Colorado Hi Sch Arts Assn. A couple of high school groups will open for them. Tickets are $5. Imagine, m-pact for $5! Call Dawn Wisdom at 719-475-6110 for information.

FRIDAY NIGHT, Apr 29 must be the biggest A Cappella night this Spring:

      1) 7pm AT NORTH DENVER METRO'S (correction) HORIZON HI SCHOOL (on 136th Ave across from 136th/Holly Park) a few blocks east of Colorado Blvd. Also, all day long, 27 vocal jazz groups compete as part of the Colorado Hi Sch Arts Assn activities. At 7, "Vocal Group of the Year" m-pact, hangs out in Colorado for one more night to greet their hundreds of avid fans as part of the  moving musical feast. A couple of the high school groups will open for them. Tickets are only $5! Call Larry Meerdink at 720-972-4400 for more information.

      2) 7:30pm AT VINCE BRAND AUDITORIUM IN LONGMONT:
2005 Rocky Mountain Harmony Sweepstakes Champ face brings its exciting act to Boulder County to celebrate their big win and gain supporting friends and fans for their attempt to take the International Championship next week in San Francisco. Tickets at the door.

      3)  7:30pm AT BOULDER UNITY CHURCH, (Folsom at Valmont):
Colorado's most famous A Cappella Band, 1993 National Harmony Sweepstakes Champs 17th Avenue Allstars, appear as part of Unity's Community Series; tickets are $12; call 303-442-1411 for more information.

Let's see how many of these you can attend!   <g>

      Next month:
Plan to greet Cross Examined at its 3rd great evening at Bolder A Cappella on Monday, May 9, 7:30 and 8:45pm. More wonderful pop-Gospel with these dedicated songsters. No cover, family atmosphere in the music room at Boulder's Redfish Brewhouse on 13th Street north of the Pearl Street Mall.

And one of the big shows of the spring: Party down with Colorado's premiere vocal jazz ensemble, Groove Society at its happy CD Release Party on Monday, May 23, 7:30 to 10pm at Bolder A Cappella. Their new CD is so entertaining and skillfully produced (by the Allstars' Tony Huerta) you'll want to pick up your "first edition" while you also hear some of the great tunes live! The disc is already receiving a super response from "those who know" across the country. No cover, family atmosphere in the music room at Boulder's Redfish Brewhouse on 13th Street north of the Pearl Street Mall.

Mark these dates on your calendar!
