Type K Carrier - 12 to 60 KHZ SSB over buried cable. 12 channels per
carrier. Predecessor to L Carrier. 17 mile spacing between repeaters. See
the History of Engineering and Science in the Bell System (Transmission
      Technology 1925 to 1975) page 75 on.

NOTE: Also am looking for a complete or incomplete set of the History of
Engineering and Science in the Bell System. Will pay a reasonable price
      for these volumes (3).
