Mother's Day, Sunday May 13 we'd love you and your family to come to
our 2nd Annual Mother's Day Peace Celebration at:
Roper Park - NE 5th Avenue & NE 2nd Street
We'll have free pie, music, peace monologues, kids activities and an
update on the Department of Peace campaign and our local congressional
meetings (as per below). We'll also read the original Mother's Day
Proclamation written by Julia Ward Howe.
Mother's Day was in part inspired by Julia Ward Howe, who nursed the wounded
during the American Civil War, and also wrote the Battle Hymn of the
Republic. In 1870 she started a crusade to institute a Mother's Day as
a Day for Peace.
See You There, Heart Phoenix, Peace Alliance
