thank you for taking over the management of this list. I was really worried that no-one would be found to take the job and the group would be out of existence. So far, I have not found any other mailing list which discusses what I am doing - the same as you (on a lower level as yet, though) - linguistics and anthropology, so I am delighted that it is continuing.
I am a German living and studying in Australia, BTW.

I think it's time to introduce myself to the list as one of the new
As you may have read, Celso had to quit moderating the list. By
this way I first want to thank him for his great job he did the last
years running this group as a place in (cyber-)space to discuss
old and new ideas, concepts and theories about code-switching,
to provide information about the phenomenon as a whole as
well as a place to discuss single shapes of CSW and finally a
good place to start for "newbies" in the field. Thank you, Celso.
A few weeks ago he asked in the list for people who want to
continue the job and Eph Tunkle and myself offered ourselves to
keep this site up.
I've been around since some time last year and offered Celso to
help him as a co-moderator. So I decided to keep on managing
the list as long as I am not alone doing this (Thanks Eph!).
I finished University (Bonn, Germany) last year in Linguistics (my
thesis was about the linguistic analysis of anonymous extortion
letters), Anthropology (with focus on historical and present
mesoamerican cultures) and Spanish. At his time I am
preparing my Ph.D. - thesis about bilingualism among the

I hope we can keep the list running and still improve the
functionality of this site - Eph seems to have some very good
If anyone has a good idea how to improve our list he/she is
invited to communicate this to me or Eph or the whole list.

This last account is the one I frequently check, i.e. every day.
All right members, keep the list running!

Let me introduce myself. I’m Czeslaw, 33, a father of bilingual
children: Tony (almost 3) and Maja (6). Recently started working on BA
thesis entitled (just a draft title): Code switching patterns among
Polish/English bilinguals: case study of 3 years old and 6 years old
siblings. Am hoping to find many interesting materials and topics in
the group's archive and also to get in touch with other people
interested in that phenomenon.
