Group Description

This group provides a forum for all users of the versatile amateur radio software package for the Apple Macintosh, cocoaModem as well as any related software such as cocoaPTT and µH Router. cocoaModem is written by Kok Chen W7AY who has made it freely available to the amateur radio community who are active in the digital communication modes on the shortwave bands. Currently, cocoaModem supports the following modes for ham radio: RTTY (AFSK), PSK (BPSK31, QPSK31, BPSK63,& QPSK63), MFSK (MFSK16), Hellschreiber (Feld Hell, FM Hell 105, & FM Hell 245), and CW (wideband two-receiver CW interface). Additionally, cocoaModem provides reception-only capabilities for SITOR-B, HF-FAX, and Synchronous AM reception. There is also a basic contest interface in cocoaModem for the RTTY and PSK modes and provides Cabrillo export for a few digital mode contests.

This yahoo group will allow the exchange of ideas for using cocoaModem and for interfacing the various brands of amateur radio transceivers to Macs, sound cards, and commercial interfaces to use cocoaModem. Further, discussion is encouraged on interfacing cocoaModem to other software applications that are interoperable with cocoaModem (e.g., MacLoggerDX, TS4K, RUMPed, Aether). Since W7AY has freely provided the source code for cocoaModem, this group can also provide a platform for programmers that wish to develop their own ideas for expanding cocoaModem.

This Yahoo Group is not officially connected with Kok Chen W7AY, the creator of cocoaModem. Any errors in the description of cocoaModem in the group are solely the responsibility of the moderator.

When applying for membership, please include your amateur radio call sign in the message to the moderator (if it is not part of your email address). This info will help speed up your approval for this group.
