      Douglas County
      Yesterday, Jerry Petrosky found 3 WILLIAMSON’S SAPSUCKER and relocated near Cheesman Reservoir: AMERICAN THREE-TOED WOODPECKER and LEWIS’S WOODPECKER. On 7/26, Blakeslee reported RED-HEADED WOODPECKER. Yesterday, Petrosky also found a singing Dickcissel and relocated BOBOLINK (Stevens, 5/16) at the Winkler Ranch south of Castlewood Canyon State Park.

      Adams County
      Yesterday, Kosten & Ehlmann relocated BURROWING OWLS along the DIA (DEN) Owl Loop:
      6 at 3.4 miles east of Tower Road & 96th avenue
      4 at Powhaton & 128th avenue
      4+ at Trussville and 114th avenue.
      2 at Tower Road, 0.2 miles north of 56th avenue
      34 along Buckley Road; 56th to 88th avenues (Kosten) last 8/1

      Larimer County
      On 7/29, Dick Hudson relocated WHITE-TAILED PTARMIGAN (Haire, 6/2) at Medicine Bow Curve at Rocky Mountain National Park.

      Jefferson County
      On 7/28, Hudson relocated an AMERICAN THREE-TOED WOODPECKER along the Strawberry Jack Trail, several hundred yards south of the Parkview Trail at Pike National Forest (access through Pine Valley Ranch Park). On 7/25, Jerry Petrosky relocated 3 Williamson’s Sapsuckers (Ehlmann, 5/19) at Genesee Mountain Park. On 7/16, Terry Michaels reported from Reynolds Park: WILLIAMSON’S SAPSUCKER (M. Brown, 7/10); AMERICAN THREE-TOED WOODPECKER (M. Brown, 7/10); DUSKY GROUSE; and COMMON POORWILL.

      Boulder County
      On 7/26, Wayne McIsaac relocated the BURROWING OWLS (McIsaac, 6/21) at Hwy 52 and Boulder County Road 13. Mark Miller relocated BURROWING OWL along Lookout Road, approx. 0.5 miles east of 79th street. Ted Floyd relocated CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRDS (Dixie Smith, 7/11) at Fawnbrook Inn, Allenspark.

      On 7/30, David Waltman relocated a GREEN HERON (Leatherman, 7/27) at Thurston Reservoir. On 7/28, Brandon Percival relocated the Tricolored Heron at Thurston Reservoir (Leatherman, 7/27). On 7/29, Groat reported a female NORTHERN CARDINAL at the south end of Lamar Community College.

      On 7/27, Roger Danka reported from Jumbo Reservoir: Yellow-billed Cuckoo, 4 Marbled Godwit, Barn Owl, Common Tern.

      Yesterday, Weston & Stevens relocated BLACK SWIFT (Ruano, 5/30) at Zapata Falls.

      Mesa County
      On 7/31, Jason Cooper relocated a BLUE TROATED HUMMINGBIRD (presumably at same location as 7/30?). On 7/30, David Wright reported a BLUE THROATED HUMMINGBIRD at 25 3/4 and C 1/4 Roads; Grand Junction Wildlife Area.

      Clear Creek County
      On 7/31, Denise Ryan relocated Brown-capped Rosy Finches (Stevens, 6/7) at the northwest & southwest corners of Summit Lake, Mt Evans Byway. On 7/13, Dave Bingham relocated WHITE-TAILED PTARMIGAN (Weston, 6/13) at the top of the Mt Evans Byway. Bingham also reported AMERICAN THREE-TOED WOODPECKER at Echo Lake Campgrounds.

      Fremont County
      On 7/31, Stevens relocated AMERICAN THREE-TOED WOODPECKERS (Weston, 7/30) up the Hayden Pass Trail. They also relocated 2+ Flammulated Owls (Weston, 7/30) in the area.

      Hinsdale County
      On 7/31, Gary Koehn reported an AMERICAN BITTERN at Lake San Cristobal. On 7/29, Gary Koehn reported a COMMON LOON.

      Park County
      On 7/30, Ehlmann relocated an American Three-toed Woodpecker (Michaels, 7/6) up Georgia Pass, Michigan Creek Road. On 7/29, Denise Ryan found an adult female & 5 young WHITE-TAILED PTARMIGAN (Michaels, 7/6) on Kenosha Pass.

      Chaffee County
      On 7/29, Ehlmann relocated LEWIS’S WOODPECKER (Tuvesson, 7/4) in Buena Vista. They relocated PINYON JAY at the KOA Campgrounds below the Buena Vista Overlook. On 7/29, Weston reported AMERICAN THREE-TOED WOODPECKER around the parking lot for Monarch Ski Area, east of Monarch Pass.

      Summit County
      On 7/28, Denise Ryan reported an AMERICAN THREE-TOED WOODPECKER 150 yards up the A.M. Bailey Bird Sanctuary trail. On 7/18, Jerry Petrosky reported AMERICAN THREE-TOED WOODPECKERS west of the creek at A.M. Bailey Bird Sanctuary and halfway between the upper trailhead and the sanctuary. On 7/27, Joe Elliott found 6 AMERICAN THREE-TOED WOODPECKERS along Boulder Creek off CR 1376 north of Silverthorne.

      Archuleta County
      On 7/28, Susan Allerton reported an adult BLACK PHOEBE feeding young at the Navajo Watchable Wildlife Area.

      Rio Blanco County
      On 7/28, Todd Deininger reported adult and young PURPLE MARTIN around Vaughn Lake.

      Gunnison County
      On 7/27, Weston & all relocated Gunnison Sage-Grouse (Ehlmann, 6/11) along Gunnison County Road 38, south of CR 38A. On 7/26, the CoBus groups reported a FLAMMULATED OWL (near “Aspen Tree Tunnel”) and relocated AMERICAN THREE-TOED WOODPECKER (Ehlmann, 7/25) east of old cemetery on Kebler Pass. They also found a White-tailed Ptarmigan south of Emerald Lake, Schofield Pass. Ehlmann & Ehlmann reported Purple Martin (0.5 miles west of cemetery) on Kebler Pass. On 7/25, Stevens & Weston reported from Old Kebler Pass: PURPLE MARTIN, DUSKY GROUSE, and NORTHERN PYGMY-OWL (between Bogan Flats Campgrounds and O.K.P. Road. On 7/23, Ehlmann relocated DUSKY GROUSE and NORTHERN PYGMY-OWL west of the west end of the south rim drive at Black Canyon of Gunnison National Park.

      Larimer/Jackson
      On 7/27, Chuck Bell reported 4 AMERICAN THREE-TOED WOODPECKER 9/10 mile up the Montgomery Pass Trail. On 7/20, Stevens & Peters relocated FLAMMULATED OWL on Pennock Pass and BOREAL OWL in the Colorado State Forest. Contact CoBus for additional details (we try to spread out searches to different areas and birds to minimize disturbances).

      Garfield County
      On 7/23, Stevens & Weston reported a PURPLE MARTIN and American Three-toed Woodpecker up Coffee Pot Road (FR 600). On 7/18, Heinrich reported 3+ BLACK SWIFT at Rifle Falls State Park.

      Routt County
      On 7/21, Allison Hilf reported 11 American Three-toed Woodpeckers along Seedhouse Road (near Three Island and Burn Ridge Trails off CR 443).

      Grand County
      On 7/21, Tina Jones reported 3 American Three-toed Woodpeckers next to Devil’s Thumb Ranch.

      Ouray County
      On 7/19, Thomas Heinrich relocated BLACK SWIFT (Ehlmann, 6/12) at Box Canyon Falls.

      Delta County
      On 7/18, Vic Zerbi relocated the WILLIAMSON'S SAPSUCKER (Garrison, 7/1) at Overland Reservoir. On 7/3, Bryan & Sue Ehlmann relocated 2 BLACK PHOEBE (Stevens, 3/31) & CHUKARS in Escalante Canyon. On 7/1, they relocated the LEWIS'S WOODPECKERS at Fruitgrower's Reservoir.

        Yesterday, Gary Lefko found a LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL at the Weld County Landfill.  On 3/15, Larson relocated the TUNDRA SWANS (Dixon, 3/2) at Baxter Lake.

        Jefferson County
        On 3/18, Merlynn Brown reported from Pine Valley Ranch Park a NORTHERN PYGMY-OWL and Pike National Forest an AMERICAN THREE-TOED WOODPECKER (see CoBus website for directions to those and other sightings).  On 3/16, Terry Michaels found a NORTHERN PYGMY-OWL at Deer Creek Canyon Road at entrance to subdivision of homes on way to Deer Creek Canyon Park.  

        Boulder County
        On 3/15, Steve Larson reported an adult THAYER'S GULL at Prince Lake #2.  On 3/3 Bryan Ehlmann relocated 3 species of ROSY FINCHES (Dillman, 12/3) at Fawnbrook Inn, Allenspark.  Frye relocated the Band-tailed Pigeon (Chavez, 1/9).  

        Larimer County
        On 3/14, Dixie Smith relocated a TUNDRA SWAN (Smith, 3/7) at the pond along CR 70 at approximately 0.75 miles west of CR 11.  

        Pueblo County
        On 3/14, David Chartier relocated a BLACK PHOEBE around the new construction at Valco Ponds.  

        SOUTHEASTERN COLORADO

        Bent County
        On 3/8, Mark Miller relocated the EASTERN TOWHEE (Truan, 1/22) at the corner of CR JJ & CR 16.  On 2/27, Riffe relocated one of the Le Conte's Sparrow (Nelson, 1/31) and SWAMP SPARROWS (Nelson, 1/31) at the west side of John Martin Reservoir (see directions on CoBus website).  

        Kiowa County
        On 3/8, M. Miller reported several GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE and ROSS'S GEESE at Neenoshe Reservoir.

        NORTHEASTERN COLORADO

        On 3/18, Zeeto relocated at Jumbo Reservoir:  GLAUCOUS Gull (Hopper, 2/17); GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE (Ehlmann, 2/20); adult LESSER BLACK-BACKED Gull (Hopper, 2/17).  On 3/16, Ira Sanders relocated an adult GLAUCOUS GULL (Prather, 3/13).   On 3/14, Bill Prather at Jumbo Reservoir:  found a male BARROW'S GOLDENEYE.

        Yuma County
        On 3/18, Zeeto relocated GREATER PRAIRIE-CHICKENS (Weston, 3/3) at the CR 45 Lek.  On 3/17, Zeeto relocated at Hale Ponds: RED-BELLIED WOODPECKER, EASTERN SCREECH-OWL, LONG-EARED OWL.  On 3/11, Stevens found four EASTERN SCREECH-OWLS along the Republican River between CR LL.5 and the Kansas border.  On 3/10, Stevens reported from Bonny Reservoir: NORTHERN CARDINAL; GREATER SCAUP (Peterson, 3/8); ROSS'S GEESE; RED-BELLIED WOODPECKER; EASTERN BLUEBIRD.  

        Morgan County
        On 3/13, Stevens relocated a pair of RED-BELLIED WOODPECKERS (Stevens, 1/22) at Brush Wildlife Area.  On 3/2, Weston relocated an EASTERN SCREECH-OWL (Stevens, 1/22).  

        MOUNTAINS AND WESTERN COLORADO

        Gunnison County
        Yesterday, Stevens relocated 3 GUNNISON SAGE-GROUSE (Ehlmann, 3/6) at the Waunita Hot Springs Lek.  On 3/15, Zeeto relocated a DUSKY GROUSE west of the campgrounds along the south rim drive at Black Canyon of Gunnison National Park.  On 3/6, Linda Powers relocated 300+ Rosy Finches (Brown-capped & Gray-crowned) near 4th and Whiterock Street in Crested Butte.  

        Chaffee County
        Yesterday, Stevens reported an American Three-toed Woodpecker just south of the overlook at the Monarch Ski Resort (western parking lot).  On 3/15, Tom McConnell reported Rosy Finches (Brown-capped & Gray-crowned) at the Granite, CO feeders (see website for details).

        Jackson County
        Yesterday, Ehlmann relocated GREATER SAGE GROUSE along CR 26, north of Hwy 14.  

        Montezuma County
        Yesterday, Garrison reported a BLACK PHOEBE at the J Road Bridge.

        Delta County
        Yesterday, Stevens relocated 7 LEWIS'S WOODPECKER below the dam at Fruitgrower's Reservoir.  On 3/18, Stevens relocated a male WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILL around the Visitors Center on the Grand Mesa.  They also found 4+ BOREAL OWLS between the Spruce Grove Campgrounds and the Visitors Center.  They heard a NORTHERN PYGMY-OWL behind the maintenance shed at Powderhorn Ski Area.  

        Mesa County
        Yesterday, Stevens reported 20+ PINYON JAY at the Colorado National Monument Campgrounds.  Stevens watched a WHITE-WINGED DOVE (Arnold) carry nesting material and build a nest at the 800 block of White Avenue in Grand Junction.  

        Routt County
        On 3/18, Stevens relocated 3+ SHARP-TAILED GROUSE (Ehlmann, 3/4) at the 20 Road Lek.  On 3/17, Stevens relocated 150+ BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS (Litteral, 3/15) at Lake Catamount.  

        Clear Creek/Summit Counties
        On 3/17, Stevens relocated WHITE-TAILED PTARMIGAN (Petrosky, 12/13) on Loveland Pass (Latest: west of Hwy 6 from first pullover south of the Summit also check and around the flat area 0.7 miles up the western trail at the summit).

        Summit County
        On 3/17, Stevens relocated BARROW'S GOLDENEYE (Stevens, 11/11) on the Blue River Water Treatment Plant.  On 3/1 Charlie Nims relocated 30+ BARROW'S GOLDENEYE (Nims, 2/25) on the Angler Ranch Pond.  

        Fremont County
        On 2/27, Rich Miller relocated the GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW (Miller, 12/18) at Tunnel Drive in Canon City.  

        Pitkin County
        On 2/25, Dick Filby reported 3 species of Rosy Finches (Filby, 12/18) at the feeding station at the top of Sam's Knob/Village Express at Snowmass Ski Area.  On 2/4, Filby found a WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILL at the top of the Gondola (a $26 foot passenger ticket allows access to both the Village Express and Gondola lifts).
