Park. On 10/29, Loch Kilpatrick reported a RED-THROATED LOON (Walbek,
10/17) at Cherry Creek State Park.
Yesterday, Terry Michaels reported from Chatfield State Park: MEW GULL
(Walbek, 10/30), PACIFIC LOON (Walbek, 10/30) & COMMON LOONS
(Michaels, 10/29). On 10/30, Glenn Walbek reported a RED-NECKED
GREBE. On 10/29, Walbek relocated COMMON LOONS (Faulkner, 10/28) at
Standley Lake. On 10/28, Doug Faulkner reported from Standley Lake: 3
WHITE-WINGED SCOTER. On 10/27, Bruce Newman found a male MANDARIN DUCK
(not a countable bird) at Wheat Ridge Greenbelt (park at Youngfield
lot and walk west under I70 to ponds on south side of trail).

SCOTERS (Wild, 10/25) at Dry Creek Reservoir. Wild reported 11
BONAPARTE’S GULL at Boedecker Reservoir. Wild reported a SWAMP
SPARROW at Bonnel Drive Pond. Gary Lefko reported a SHORT-EARED OWL
at the Bee Lake camping peninsula.
On 10/29, Zeeto relocated an AMERICAN THREE-TOED WOODPECKER just
northeast of highway 67 and Rampart Range Road.

On 10/27, Mark Peterson found 3 BLACK SCOTER on Prospect Lake,
Memorial Park, Colorado Springs. Peterson reported from Big Johnson
Reservoir: SURF SCOTER (Moore, 10/25), BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER, COMMON
LOON, 2 BONAPARTE’S GULL.
On 10/26, Paul & Polly Neldner found a female ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK

Yesterday, Stevens and all found at Sand Draw Wildlife Area: HARRIS’S
SPARROW & 2 FIELD SPARROWS. Stevens found a RED-BELLIED WOODPECKER at
Pony Express Wildlife Area.
On 10/30, Stevens reported from Jumbo Reservoir: SHORT-EARED OWL,
EASTERN SCREECH-OWL, PACIFIC LOON, 2 COMMON LOONS, BLACK SCOTER,
THAYER’S GULL & 2 BONAPARTE’S GULLS. Stevens and all found 2 COMMON
REDPOLL at Red Lion Wildlife Area (Little Jumbo Reservoir).

On 10/29, Setta Moss reported 12 GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE along
MacKensie Avenue, east side of Canon City (also search Willow Street).
On 10/28, Moss found a WILLIAMSON’S SAPSUCKER at the McKinley
Elementary School in Canon City. On 10/26, Bryan Ehlmann & Richard
Stevens found a YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER at the Holy Cross Abbey.
They relocated a YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER (Petrosky, 10/18) at
Centennial Park, Canon City. They relocated a RUFOUS-CROWNED SPARROW
at Tunnel Drive, Canon City.
On 10/28, Tom Litteral found a TUNDRA SWAN at Lake Catamount.
On 10/28, Amber Carter found a COMMON LOON at Sweitzer Lake. On
10/15, Tiernan relocated a LEWIS’S WOODPECKER west of Evelyn Horn’s
yard below the Fruitgrower’s Reservoir dam.
On 10/27, Vic Zerbi reported a PACIFIC LOON at Rifle Gap Reservoir.
On 10/25, John Rawinski found a LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL at San Luis
Lakes State Park.
Jackson & Larimer Counties
On 10/25, Steve Ritt heard a BOREAL OWL along CR 43 (North of CR 24;
just south of Tiago & Teal Lakes). On 10/24, Ritt saw 7 GREATER SAGE
GROUSE along CR 5 (about mile north/CR 24). On 10/19, Bob Shade found
a HARRIS’S SPARROW at the YMCA of the Rockies banding area/feeders.
Ehlmann & Stevens relocated a BOREAL OWL up Ruby Jewell Road, Colorado
State Forest. Ehlmann and Stevens relocated a BOREAL OWL south of the
Crags Campgrounds. They relocated a Flammulated Owl 500 yards south
of the Pennock Pass Summit.
On 10/23, Stevens & Ehlmann found 2+ GUNNISON SAGE-GROUSE at the
Miller Ranch Wildlife Area. On 10/22, they relocated GUNNISON
SAGE-GROUSE (Carter, 10/10) along CR 38A north of the Gunnison Cty
Line. On 10/23, Stevens found a COMMON LOON at Blue Mesa Reservoir.
On 10/22, Ehlmann and all relocated LEWIS’S WOODPECKERS in Buena
Vista. They relocated a Northern Saw-whet Owl north of the Buena
Vista Overlook. See website for details. They also relocated PINYON
JAYS between the Overlook and Ruby Mountain.
Clear Creek County
On 10/21, Ehlmann & Stevens found 4 WHITE-TAILED PTARMIGAN on Guanella
Pass (west of Rosalie & 603 trails). Note: Mt Evans Road is closed
On 10/15, John Tiernan relocated a DUSKY GROUSE (Carter, 10/9) at the
Black Canyon of Gunnison National Park Campgrounds.
La Plata County
On 9/17, Riley Morris relocated 9 ACORN WOODPECKERS at Wildcat Canyon.
