      Distributed Computing (PDC) Research Group at the University of Melbourne, Australia
      invites PhD and Masters by Research admission applications from prospective students.
      Some helpful information related to admission process is enclosed below.

      In PART H: Request for admission to:
      * PhD Degree (those with graduate qualification in Computer Science)
      * Masters by Research leading to PhD Degree

      2. Scholarships: (there is NO separate form for requesting scholarships, see PART H
      of application form). Also see.

      Note that International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (IPRS) is competative.
      and the application states that "students who are awarded an IPRS by the university
      are automatically awarded MIRS scholarship (Living Allowance)".
      in addition, the U. of Melbourne has other scholarships as stated in the application

      In PART G of application: If you fully depend on U of Melbourne Scholarship
      to support your studies (both tution and living expenses), it will be good idea
      to mention that explicitly.

      Australian Development Scholarships (ADS)

      With application please enclose the following:
      1. Certified copies of all your marks cards
      2. Recommendation letter from your dept head or professors
      3. Enclosed copies of all your research papers
      4. A detailed Resume: make sure to list all project works you have done and papers
      you have published in conferences/journals (attach a copy of your research papers).
      5. Also include tentative research proposal (not exceeding 4 pages) on topics of your
      This helps in identifying and evaluating candidate's research potential .
      The proposal is initial idea, but it can be changed later.
      You are encouraged discuss your research proposal in advance with potential
      supervisors in the group whose research interest matches with yours.

      Note that U of Melbourne's admission and scholarships selection process is
      very competitive.
