Happy New Year. In case you missed KB's Email from last year, we still
don't have the pool. We start up again Jan 8, the first Tuesday after
today. Then we have the pool on a regular schedule, possibly, with the
exception of the Sunday of the Club Puck Winter Training at Texas. Maybe
KB can post what is happening that day.
Many good things have happened at Club Puck. We had many people make one
of the world's teams, our accounting was fixed, for about a day, we have
assimilated many, Yori still is not working, and Sam only keeps in touch
when he needs something. Oh yeah, Pete flew into town just so he could
hang at the NYE party until past 2 AM.
There was a lot of talk of doing drills with comments supporting or
disagreeing with almost every point of view. The main objections were that
someone would have to be here when they didn't want to do the drills. To
that, I can only think how many of us don't want to be here when we work
hard to play a good game, sometimes 4 or 5 good, smart passes, and someone
just doesn't even attempt to do the right thing and gives up the puck. I
must say though that the excuse of getting cold hit closest to my heart.
That was something I could relate to. Despite all that, we will begin with
drills on Tuesday and they will be placed in the middle of practice. The
main reason for this is for your safety (yeah, it's really my preference).
You've eaten like there is no tomorrow, drank like there was, and
exercised like the guys that buy dresses to go to the football games.
You'll need a break. And I will look out for you and provide one. If you
get cold, you should work harder during the game, but you can swim some
laps to stay warm while the rest of us improve our game.
So that you don't hurt your hand, fix your glove. It should be dry by now.
And while were on the subject of dry, now would be a good time to get some
paint on those half-and-half sticks. Mostly we should have all-white or
all-black sticks. The weather will be dry for a while, spend a few
Also please review the email about being on time. That is all. Thank you
and see you soon.
