Fwd: seems like only a year ago.....
- Hey kids...
Hadda great time at the very informal dive trip this last weekend and
missed seeing many of you...the weather was cold at night and just
Poi-fikt during the day -- warm with a cool, coastal
breeze...Joey-San, Bronson, and "Neptune" Jones & Co. braved the Miso
Soup viz at the mile marker to provide mollusk for the dinner crowd
that "appeared" on Saturday afternoon and departed early Sunday -- Yo
Yo factor: 2.3/5.0...the group next door brought a live band that
tore it up until they were shut down at around 10 p.m. on
Saturday...and the bonfire was enough to melt Fish's shoe soles off,
(alas no Fish) though Chip would have scoffed at the lack of a
perfect fire-storm and arms used as blast shields...all-n-all, I
think the trip was summed up best by Craig's story of the calendar(?)
spotted in Hawaii, now resting on Uncle T's refrigerator: "We put the
Fun back in Dysfunctional."
It was also the first "Sorta Annual Clavin Anniversary Trip," as
coined by "Great Scott!!!" Tucker and the Duck...seems that even our
minister, Reverend Jimm" Crosby, happened to hear about it and sent
the following message that I forward for your pleasure.

so....so sorry i couldnt be there to partake in the festivities and
all but i am down here in buenos aires doing my best to defuse the
peace....despite some lingering anti-americanism, we arent actually
engaged in open warfare with any latin american countries at this
time and i am doing my best to keep the arabs from monopolizing all
the fun.....ive called maradona the most overrated soccer player of
all-time, while making clear the term football applies only to the
american variety; i have consistently referred to them as the british
falkland islands (as opposed to isles malvinas, a term which is
actually required - BY LAW! in argentina) and i wander around town
with a tourist map stopping everyone and asking in a loud voice:
"wheres the nearest mcdonalds and why cant anyone speak proper
english around here?".......all still to no effect.....but i am
trying......just give me a little time; in reality everyone does
speak english and there are five(!!) mcdonalds within a half mile of
where i teach; i have played some hockey and the pools are not warm,
they are HOT! i am in heaven......everyone is great....crazy, but
great; having a wonderful time, hope you are too...a big big big
happy anniversary...glad i had the chance to be there one year
ago......maybe well see you before the next, heres hoping.
