Reenacting Unit Forming in Colorado
WHO: The living history organization "Keeping History Alive"
WHAT: is seeking new members to join the organization and to portray Union, Confederate, and civilian participants in the American Civil War. The unit portrays different aspects of the American Civil War. Members of the unit portray Union and Confederate infantry, artillery, cavalry, and medical corps personnel. Additionally, some members portray civilians during that historical period. Keeping History Alive is a 501(c)3 non profit serving in an educational role the citizens of Colorado. Keeping History Alive does not discriminate against anyone based on race, color, creed, gender, sexual orientation, or physical ability.
WHERE: Keeping History Alive is based in Colorado Springs and serves Southern Colorado. The organization participates in Civil War Reenactments in Colorado and New Mexico. Additionally, it participates in reenactments in other states such as Arkansas and Texas. The unit has participated in the 145Th Anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg with thousands of reenactors in Pennsylvania.
Additional Information: The unit is available for Officer and Non Commissioned Officer Professional Development (OPD/NCOPD) and is available for presentations at schools and civic organizations.
