      FORREST RIDES AGAIN

Presented by .... Stones River Battlefield, Sons of Confederate Veterans MBoro Camp 33 , Oaklands Historic Museum and Murfreesboro Parks Commission

      April 1st 10:00am--- 3:00pm

      Encampments, demonstrations and re-enactment of Forrest's Raid , July 13th 1862

At Oaklands House Museum only blocks from the Courthouse.

Often confused with the Battle of Stones River, the Battle of Murfreesboro occurred nearly 6 months earlier when Forrest rode into Murfreesboro at daylight splitting his forces( 1300 troopers) to rout Federal forces and capturing Gen. Crittendon and a hord of supplies. The Courthouse has the bullet marks in the old brick where NBF freed several Confederate soldiers that were condemned to hang.

Speaker and author Dr. Michael Bradley will narrate the raid

      Regards,
      John Hooper
