      For what little it is worth, I certainly agree that this smallish
      book (200 pages) is extremely well-written and researched. It is a
      story most often passed over and its over-all strategic importance
      is seldom appreciated.
      Also for me, it made John Pope's rise to command the Army of
      Virginia much more understandable and reasonable
