Could anyone give me some advise or information concerning a Federal calvary raid led by Wilson in April of 1865?

James Harrison Wilson led the largest cavalry raid of the war.  You can read his biography:  _Grant's Cavalryman_ by Edward G. Longacre.

The raid is covered in Longacre's _Mounted Raids of the Civil War,_ and is the subject of James Pickett Jones' book, _Yankee Blitzkrieg:  Wilson's Raid Through Alabama and Georgia._

Wilson was the subject of a couple of Civil War Times Illustrated articles:

"James H. Wilson Had Cause to be Cocksure" May 1962
      "Wilson's Selma Raid" January 1963
