I live in an area where there are several communities within a two hour
driving distance from one another, and so I have been able to see the
differences in how people are treated, and how Carmel is presented to the
community by the leadership, as well as the several practical operations of
the communities and their meetings.
Your community sounds, through your words and descriptions, very similar in
its tone, to the Loretto community here with Father Bede as spiritual
assistant. I love the Bede. From out here, my perspective, it appears
that he has achieved a marked custody of the eyes and mind, tongue and
heart and I love to watch him interacting with the world. He exudes great
peace and never interferes. He's magnetic in a very good way.
