- FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CHRISTIAN NOVEL CALLS ATTENTION TO US OCCUPATION OF HAWAIIAN KINGDOM AND UNRESOLVED HAWAIIAN GRIEVANCES
Hermann Schachtschneider is proud to announce the publication of his first novel, Sarah's Kine Justice, A Story of Modern Hawaii.
Set in modern Hawaii, the book builds on the Hawaiian people's hundred-year dispute with the United States over the 1898 annexation of Hawaii, and gives a frightening example of what might be in store for America as the pace of technology makes powerful weapons available to smaller political players.
In the book, two genetic engineers have found a way to force the United States to give Hawaii back to the Hawaiians, and they've given notice that all non-Hawaiians must get out or die.
Sarah Kiley is one of only a few thousand pure-blooded Hawaiians who stand to inherit Hawaii under the scientists' plan. While investigating the murder of a friend, she finds herself a key player on the inter-agency task force that's trying to stop them. A life long-advocate of Hawaiian sovereignty, Sarah must decide which side she's on. In the meantime, she gives her best to the investigation, making for some thrilling adventure.
Set in Hawaii, much of the story takes place outdoors. Readers will glimpse what it's like to snorkel, scuba dive, hike, and sail in Hawaii. Also, they will learn a little Hawaiian history, some genetic engineering, and the reason America's current approach to domestic security is critically flawed.
Christians will enjoy seeing how Sarah's belief in God gives her the strength and wisdom to do what she feels called to do. Christian parents of school-aged children will learn about the family policy that helped Sarah's partner, Carter Ramos, stay faithful to Christ as a young adult. The book also provides examples of how a Christian world view enables Christians to cope with life's problems, large and small.
Sarah's Kine Justice is currently available only in ebook format on Amazon.com where it is promotionally priced at 99 cents through the end of July. A print release is being considered for later in the year, if the ebook is successful. Would-be print readers are encouraged to email the publisher atsarahskinejustice@... if they would like to have a print version available.
About Hermann Schachtscneider: A proud father of two young Christian adults, Hermann believes, "Action and adventure novels do not need to be morally offensive. It is possible to write a good action novel from a Christian world view."
Hermann chose to self-publish the novel to keep costs down, to get the book out faster, and to maintain complete control over the content. He explains, "Amazon made it very easy. I recommend their Kindle Direct Publishing service to anyone who wants to try their hand at writing. Just be sure to read the directions first; it's not 100% intuitive."
Hermann and his wife are based in Jacksonville, Florida, but they travel widely.
