Before you read this, you need to know three things. I grew up in Warsaw,
IN. I live in Rockford, IL now. I graduated from the same college a few
years before them. We don't know one another.
Just proves...truth is stranger than fiction.
Max Elliot Anderson
Recently, my husband and 3 children made a trip to Rockford to visit family.
Our oldest son, Evan is 7 and is reading quite well. On our way to
Rockford, my husband and I were discussing the challenge we find ourselves
facing in finding great books that will encourage his walk with the Lord as
well as grab his attention and foster a love of reading. We have not been
impressed with the Magic Treehouse series that every boy around us seems to
be reading. I decided to stop in at Barnes & Nobles in Rockford while we
were there to see what I could find. Of course, he went right to the Magic
Treehouse books and begged me to get a few of them. I spent time looking
around and found the classic starts series and then saw your books in the
religious section. I layed them out on the table and told him to pick one
to buy. He put the M.T. books down and picked Big Rig Rustlers. He started
reading the book on the way home to Warsaw, Indiana and 11 chapters later we
were home!!!! We've never had a quieter ride!!! He can't wait to get
another one! I also realized that your publisher is in Winona Lake, IN
which is where we have lived since we both went to college at Grace in the
late 1980's. A very small world! Well, that being said, we wanted to thank
you for blessing our family by writing to this very important age group. We
will be collecting your books and I know he can't wait for the next one!
