UK court resumes hearings on Akhmed Zakayev’s extradition

After a three-week break, the main hearings on the extradition of Akhmed
Zakayev to Russia have resumed in London. The hearings are being held in
the London Magistrates Court. Zakayev and his lawyers are present at the
trial. The interests of the plaintiff, the government of the Russian
Federation, are served by representatives of the British Crown
Prosecution Service. During two additional days the court has allocated
for the hearings, June 30 and July 1, the prosecution will have an
opportunity to cross-examine witnesses for the defence. The first stage
of the main hearings was held in the British capital on June 9-11.
