Prosecutors Report Names, Ethnic Origin of ''Russian Taliban''
      Prisoners

The Northern Caucasus Directorate of the Russian Prosecutor General's
Office on Tuesday disclosed the names of Russian citizens who had
fought in Afghanistan on the Taliban's side and who are currently
kept at the Guantanamo U.S. military base in Cuba. According to
preliminary information these are certain Sharipov, Umarov and
Kudayev. Sharipov and Umarov are reported to be ethnic Tatars and
Kudayev is a Balkar (a small nationality in the Northern Caucasus).
A representative of the Prosecutor General's Office has said that
before crossing the Russian border, all three men had participated in
      Muslim organizations. //RIA-Novosti//
