MOSCOW. Aug 31 (Interfax) - Moscow believes that the European Union may
contribute to "resolution of frozen conflicts with self-proclaimed
republics in the CIS, but only within the framework of existing
formats," Russia's envoy to the EU Vladimir Chizhov said.
"These are established formats, achieved painstakingly, and are the
only ones suitable," Chizhov said at press conference in Moscow.
He said that "the EU may cooperate within the framework of these
formats, but without undermining them."
