Hi all, I'm new to chatting and just found your group today. My 3
1/2 year old daughter is Spastic quad CP, Cortical Visual
Impairment, G-tube, & Trach intermittent siezure disorder.
I am very well versed in pediatric specialists worth seeing in the
northern suburbs for medical issues, but at a loss when it comes to
the school system. We are entering our 1st summer, and already I've
been told my daughter will go 6 weeks without therapy, because it's
not offered all summer. I know this is morally repulsive to deny a
child the help she needs, but I don't know where I can go to do
      something about it.
If anyone out there knows of summer programs in the Chicago area,
prefferably northern suburbs, please let me know.
If you have any other advice for us, feel free to send it along.

Right now we are stable healthwise, so life is back to routine, and
      I have time to chat.

ps- Any nursing agencies worth looking into, or is that another of
      life's ironies???

        Hi Emily's mom,

We use a physical therepist we had when our daughter was in the birth to three program. We just pay for it through our insurance. It gets us by for the summer months. By law the school doesn't have to provide therapy when school isn't in session. Understandibly our children do deserve good therapy when not in school.

        Good luck,

        Erin
