Group Description

This group is dedicated to the students of Central High School in Georgetown, Guyana. This school, started by JC Luck many eons ago, has been responsible for quite a number of prominent Guyanese. It enjoyed great rivalry between itself and many other schools, principle among them Saint Stanislaus College :P. In its glory days, there were 3 branches, Thomas Lands in North Georgetown (where it enjoyed a rivalry with North Georgetown). At Thomas Lands, there were only boys. St. Phillips Green was the other campus on Durban Street which was all girls. The main branch at Smyth Street. This is where things got serious as students prepared for all the exams; College of Preceptors, GCE, later CXC etc. Unlike the other branches which had up to form 3, this went up to 5th Form.

Like all schools, lasting friendships were formed. Many memories came about. One's academic career was well spent at Central High.

Today the school is not like its former self. Its still in existence but not at the level of before the 90s. One of the goals of the group is to be a source of support. Having attended the school we want to be proud of our Alma Mater and in everyway we can do what we can to keep the name of Central High School flying high for our children and grand children.

So let us start something with this school. Lets get this thing going. Lets reconnect and learn about those who came after as well as those who were before.

Let there be a corum and go for the cogito ergo sum. Jokes, memories, teachers, students, photos ... Let the sharing begin and continue.
